CAR TALK
Description:
  • Learn about Tools, Tires,
  • Changing Oil, Error Codes, Radiator Issues,
  • Light bulbs, Brakes, Body.

  • What to do if my car stops on a dark, rainy night?
  • How do I problem solve what is wrong with my car?
  • What do I need to check frequently to prevent excessive wear?
  • How can I use technology to save money and time?

Class instructional Model  (to be added to in class): you will work in teams of two to cover the focus areas of automotive maintenance. You can use slide shows, youtube video, your own video or even bring in objects to help describe or bring in a car to demo on, weather dependent.

Day 1 .    Introduction & overview:  Take a pretest. What tools do we need?.  
                Why maintain? How will you participate? Mon, Dec 2
Projector not working, looked under hood of ML,  Seminar model, 1 or 2 lead discussion, video or website (short) or slide show. Target time 15 minutes.
Day 2.     Create teams (2 or 1 per team) and define projects. Wed, Dec 4
Day 3.     Research and get it together.  Fri, Dec 6 
Day 4.    John Absent Subject is CarTalk Video.  Mon, Dec 9
Day 5.     All about tires and wheels, jack up a car.\Brake Team. Wed, Dec 11

Day 6      All about fluids, check and replace\Radiator issues. Mon Dec 16

With Seminar Round Table we push tables into Rectabe of Four. We sit around with one team in charge. They introduce their topic, show a short video and talke about what they have learned. Rest of class asks questions and shares story. We try to do two a day. Might involve going to parking lot for demo.
