Pan & Tilt
Pan & Tilt Demo

Pan & Tilt Assignment

What is panning with a camera? Well, basically it is standing in one spot and rotating the axis of the camera horizontally in a smooth, even motion. Pans are normally done with a tripod.
What is a tilt shot with a camera? In this case think of a pan that is vertical. If the camera position is low to the ground the subject appears larger. If the camera position is high it diminishes the appearance of the subject.
Lower thirds. Any text that is placed on the screen is placed in the lower third of the frame so it doesn't mask a face or interfere with the subject.
Video Assignment
You are working probably alone or possibly with a team of two people to do the exercise described in the above button called "Pan & Tilt Demo".
Your video will include a demonstration of panning and tilting and you talking about it. You will need a title.

And you will place text using the lower thirds rule to identify you speaking like in the demo.
You will need to shoot an original pan and tilt shot. Then you will create a script, shoot yourself speaking and

edit the entire demo into a 45 second video.
Begin and end with a fade.
