The basic Photoshop skills  we work on in Media

Let's start with the CROP Tool.  We use this to cut photos to particular shapes. In class we used it to get rid of blank spaces on the image we edited.
Basically, when you select the tool you can drag the edges in to re-define the edges of the photo. When you are satisfied, hit return. In some cases when you are using the rule of thirds you will pay attention to the intersecting guide lines to see if your key points of interest are on target.

Next we want the Clone tool.  We used it to change the Seahawk - 49er's final score. Several skills we covered included:
  • Control-Shift lets us quickly zoom in.
  • [ makes the selection tool smaller, ] makes the selection tool larger.
  • Alt is used to sample where we clone from. Sometimes it makes sense to be very careful about where you start cloning.
  • As you paint the cloned image you see   +  move along with the moving clone brush. Pay attention so you clone only what you want.
