Purdy Invasion

You are to turn in two separate projects.

P-I- graphic is the cut out mamal set in a fresh background with whatever other cutouts that will be in the animation. This needs to be a pdf file.
P-I Animation is the flash animation where the animal in the fresh background is the setting for a short story. This needs to be an swf file.
Assignment Description: Cut out a large animal and place it in a new background scene. You will have other images that you cut out and make a part of the new scene. You are creating a new world where the animal is the setting where smaller stories can happen.

For example, cut out a dragon. Place it in a different environment like at Peninsula High School or by the Purdy Bridge, on or under. We could take some bridge photos to make this even better.

Then think of things you can place in the scene that are much smaller and maybe climbing on the dragon or on the bridge.  For example, cut out a natty golfer from a different environment or a San Francisco Trolly or a mountain climber or an extreme sports image. You want to put together things that aren't normally combined in the same image.

We will create a static image first.  Working in photoshop we will have a main background image, a main subject matter image. Then we will add smaller, high interest images to interact with the subject image. Try to think of images and interactions that are unusual....that are original with your unique point of view.
Picture
Then try re-creating your original concept as a flash story. You could have your large image with smaller scenes of activity going on in different places. They could happen sequentiall or that could be happening at the same time.

Remember how to make action inside of a movie clip. You could have a giant spider crawling up a wing and just as it gets to the top....slide back. Or you could make a movie clip of your character climbing....or get one on loan from a friend in class and adapt it to the project.

Again, use your imagination. It's your creation. Make it your own, make it unique, make it fun.
